Writer/Director Kristin Ellingson’s first feature Gala & Godfrey was inspired by the final scene of Ingmar Bergman’s “Scenes from a Marriage” and her favorite Hugh Grant movies.
Gala & Godfrey was an official selection of Cleveland International Film Festival — American Independents Competition — where she was nominated for their Reel Women Direct award. Gala & Godfrey won Best Independent Film 2016 at the HRIFF, Best Feature Film at Portsmouth International Film Festival, Best Feature Film and Best Director at FLIC and received a Special Jury Mention at Port Townsend Film Festival.
